A great way to keep hitters off balance is to not pitch to preconceived notions. When a flame-throwing closer comes into a game, like Craig Kimbrel, the obvious thought is that he's going to come with the heat. Use that to your advantage on the mound. By throwing three straight knuckle curveballs, you can see that this hitter was completely off balance and never had an idea that the third one was coming. Not a bad way to end a BR game.
